Financial Education Resource Center

Missouri credit unions are dedicated to teaching both young people and adults the basics of finance, credit, and money management. Missouri credit unions reach thousands of students through classroom presentations each year, as well as financial education opportunities for adults.  With bankruptcy levels and foreclosure rates growing in Missouri, it's more important than ever to help consumers get on the right financial track by providing financial education.

The Missouri Credit Union Association Consumer Financial Education Task Force, made up of credit union staff, helped develop this Web resource center to help consumers with financial education opportunities and to assist credit unions in their consumer financial education efforts.

Educational Programs and Web Resources
There are a variety of Web sites, publications and other resources available to assist in consumer financial education efforts.  There are resources available for consumers ranging in age from pre-kindergarten to senior citizen.  Click here to  see what is available to help you learn more about financial issues and concerns.

FOR CREDIT UNIONS:  Report Your Education Efforts
If your credit union makes financial education presentations to students, please be sure to report those efforts to the National Youth Involvement Board (NYIB). NYIB provides information and resources regarding youth participation in the credit union movement. This information is integral to credit union lobbying efforts, and helps demonstrate credit unions’ community focus to lawmakers. To get started, visit www.nyib.org or contact Kathy Crim at (979) 299-3603 or kathy@nyib.org.
