The Missouri Credit Union Charitable Foundation's Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to CUNA and MCUA-sponsored conferences.  Scholarship applications for CUNA Schools are mailed each November and due back in December. The committee makes its selection for CUNA Schools at the February MCUA Board of Directors meeting.  Scholarship applications for MCUA-sponsored educational events are enclosed in the event brochure.  For more information, contact the MCUA Education Department at (314) 542-1331,1-888-800-6287, or education@mcua.org.

Development Educator Training
The Credit Union Development Education Program (DE) is presented by the National Credit Union Foundation with support from World Council of Credit Unions, Credit Union National Association and CUNA Mutual Group. The DE Program strives to bring renewed relevance to the phrase, "People Helping People." Attendees take part in discussions of cultures and movements in developing nations, presentations on community development and low-income credit unions, and group work.  For more information, visit www.ncuf.coop or click here.

Two sessions will be offered in 2010:  April 14-21 in Madison, WI and August 11 – 18 in Bainbridge Island, WA.  

Southwest CUNA Management School
Southwest CUNA Management School (SCMS) is a 3-year course study designed to develop and enhance leadership skills for the Credit Union Professional. Students complete over 162 hours of focused curriculum and an additional 180 hours developing a strategic business plan for their own credit unions.  For more information, visit

NYIB Annual Conference
The Missouri Credit Union Charitable Foundation (MCUCF) offers one full scholarship to the National Youth Involvement Board (NYIB) Annual Conference. Visit NYIB for more information about the conference.  

The 2010 NYIB conference takes place July 26 – 29 at the Renaissance Grand Hotel in St. Louis.

2010 Travel Stipend Policy
The Missouri Credit Union Charitable Foundation Board of Directors has approved travel stipend policy for 2010 for MCUA conferences. The following criteria must be met in order for a scholarship recipient to qualify for a travel stipend:

Credit union must be less than $35 million in assets.
Submit a letter of request to Liz Adams, MCUCF Executive Director, prior to attending the conference.
One travel stipend per credit union with a maximum limit of $500.
Stipend will cover travel (mileage), hotel room, and meals not provided at the conference.
Receipts must be submitted within 30 days of the final day of the school/conference.

There is an annual limit of $10,000. Funds will be disbursed on a first come, first served basis.

Frank Lindsey Educational Opportunity Grant Program
This program provides assistance to credit unions with less than $10 million in assets. Funding must first go toward a STAR, VAP, or MERIT correspondence course before it can be applied toward MCUA conferences or MCUA Webinars.
