Arsenal Help Local Bakers Live the Sweet Life

We'll be sharing these stories here on the website, on Facebook and on Twitter. Today's story comes from Arsenal Credit Union and a local "Cupcake Wars" champion, the Sweet Divine.
It’s been a whirlwind year for Jenna and Jason Siebert, owners of the Sweet Divine bakery and food truck. At this time in 2012, the couple was settling into the business’ first storefront on busy South Kingshighway. Since then, they’ve won the Food Network’s hit reality competition “Cupcake Wars” and served countless cupcakes from the window of the Sweet Divine’s signature pink food truck. They have even relocated to a new shop in Soulard that was showcased recently on KSDK’s “Show Me St. Louis.”
While Jenna says she keeps waiting for life to slow down a little, she’s thrilled with the multi-talented bakery’s recent successes–and with the help she and her husband have received from Arsenal Credit Union’s business services staff.
The Sieberts, who resided in rural Jefferson County when the business started, were consumer members of Arsenal who quickly turned to the credit union for their business deposit needs. Soon they found the perfect space in Soulard, but realized it needed extensive work. They consulted Arsenal as well as other financial institutions for a loan. Arsenal’s business services department, led by Assistant Vice President Andrew Dodge, worked creatively to help the Sieberts quickly obtain financial backing. Jenna says Dodge and his colleagues turned the loan around within a day, allowing construction to start immediately on the Sweet Divine’s next big phase. The Soulard location of the Sweet Divine opened April 20, 2013.
“We were able to do everything we wanted with this space,” Jenna says. She and Jason continue to consult Arsenal’s business services staff regularly as they look toward the shop’s future.
“It’s great," she says of Arsenal's assistance. "We really do feel like family.”
