Julie Thornton began her career at the Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) in 1998 as a training specialist. Since then, Julie has trained thousands of credit union employees in Missouri – and around the country – in a variety of professional development programs. The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) awarded Julie the Standing Ovation Award of Merit for outstanding training in 2002 and the following year, Julie was promoted to director of Professional Development.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Environmental Sciences from the University of Missouri - Columbia and her Master of Science degree in Corporate and Industrial Communications from Lindenwood University. Julie is also certified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessment, which has helped credit unions improve staff communication by understanding psychological preferences in how individuals perceive the world and make decisions.
