Mark Hohenstein is the vice president of the Credit Union Shared Branch Network for the Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA).
Mark currently manages a network that processed more than 790,000 teller transactions in 2013 for credit unions within the Missouri network and national participants.
During the past nineteen years at MCUA, Mark has played an integral part in the growth of the Shared Branch Network, which began with seven participating credit unions and one location. Today there are 46 participating credit unions and more than 125 locations, including expansion into Illinois, Kansas and Texas. In 2001, Mark worked with the Filene Research Institute to develop and implement non-member check cashing through shared branches. Missouri was the first state to offer this program to the underserved.
Mark received a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1980. Mark served as a Board member for the Institute of Financial Education and taught classes accredited by St. Louis Community College for the Institute. In 2012 Mark earned the Credit Union Development Education (CUDE) designation.
