The Missouri Credit Union Association is holding Hike the Hill together with the Kansas Credit Union Association. The event is scheduled to include a visit with the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and meetings with members of the U.S. Senate and U.S. House and their staff to discuss issues of concern to credit unions and our members.
With the credit union tax status in the spotlight as Congress works on comprehensive tax reform, the October Hike the Hill is an important opportunity for credit unions in Missouri to make sure our federal lawmakers understand the importance of preserving the credit union tax status and how this affects consumers back home in their districts.
The Missouri Credit Union Association will arrange regulatory and Missouri Hill meetings and meals for participating credit union representatives.
The Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/U.S. Capitol is located at 1225 First Street, NE, Washington, D.C. 20002. Hike the Hill attendees should make reservations directly with the hotel. You have two options:
Or call for reservations: 1.800.446.6677
Please mention the Missouri Credit Union Association when making your phone reservation.
A block of rooms is reserved at a rate of $259/night, plus tax. Hotels tend to fill up quickly, and October is an extremely busy time in Washington, D.C. Please make your reservation no later than September 9. The hotel block will remain in effect through September 10 or the block is full, whichever comes first, so please make your registration early
We are hoping to schedule the NCUA visit on October 1 in the afternoon, but details are not yet finalized. A legislative briefing will take place that afternoon/evening, and Hill visits will begin at 9 a.m. on October 2. Please do not plan to leave on October 3 until early afternoon, to allow for flexibility in making/rescheduling legislative appointments. Your arrival and departure times are requested for planning purposes. Please also include a cell phone number.
