Make Plans to Attend GAC in DC: Missouri Room Block Available Through January 18
2013 is anticipated to be an important year for legislative action that will impact credit unions and their members. Make sure credit unions’ voices are heard. The Credit Union National Association’s (CUNA) Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) in Washington, D.C. takes place February 24 – 28, 2013.
Keynote speakers at the GAC include Tom Brokaw, NBC News anchor, and Jean Chatzky, a journalist and author focused on personal finance education. Missouri credit union participants will have the opportunity to take part in a legislative briefing, group dinner, Hill visits and breakfast with lawmakers/legislative staff.
The Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) has reserved a block of rooms for the GAC in the Renaissance Washington D.C. Hotel, 999 9th Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20001. The rate is $305 single/double for four nights: Sunday, February 24 – Wednesday, February 27, checking out on Thursday morning, February 28, 2013.
Missouri participants wanting to participate in the Missouri room block are urged to act quickly. Rooms are still available, but MCUA will return any unused rooms back to CUNA on January 18. At that point, all reservations must be made through CUNA, and a room with the Missouri block at the Renaissance cannot be guaranteed. Please note, the last day to release a room after making a reservation and receive the deposit back is January 7. Starting on January 8, the $275 will be non-refundable for all room cancellations.
