Consumer Loan Officer: Electro Savings Credit Union

If so, Electro Savings Credit Union is seeking an experienced individual to grant credit decisions on Direct and Indirect Consumer Loan Applications.  Loan products include, but not limited to:  Auto, Boat, Motorcycle, RV, Credit Card, and Unsecured.  This is a back-office centralized Lending position reviewing applications from branches and local Auto Dealers.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The primary role of this position is to assist customers with their consumer lending needs; analyze loan requests to make sound decisions based on lending policy.  This includes analyzing applicant’s current financial position to determine the degree of risk involved in extending or lending money.

  • Approve good loans based on the applicant’s ability and desire to pay.
  • Follow laws and regulations related to this job function and follow Credit Union policy, procedures, mission and values.
  • Maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly atmosphere for customers and co-workers.
  • Ensure both internal and external service standards are met or exceeded.  Be knowledgeable on all Electro Savings Credit Union products and services in order to effectively present to members at every opportunity.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience:  Two to five years of experience in Direct and Indirect auto underwriting along with prior experience in sub-prime lending.  Previous lending authority a must.

Education:  A high school education or GED required.  Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Other Skills:  Must have excellent written and verbal communication.

Senior Vice President, Lending (CLO): Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union

The Senior Vice President, Lending leads the organization in achieving maximum profitability and highest levels of service in delivering lending products and services to members. Success in this position is demonstrated by implementing and carrying out growth strategies in first mortgage, consumer, and commercial lending products while maintaining a sound loan portfolio.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a member of the ABECU Senior Management Team and develops and interprets lending policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with regulatory rules and laws considering prudent lending strategies
  • Supervises all lending operations, including activities in departments for loan origination, loan servicing and collections
  • Develops and implements a lending business plan which contributes to the organization's strategic initiatives and objectives
  • Leads First Mortgage and Lending Services staff in maintaining accurate and comprehensive lending systems which maximize profitability and competitive positioning with appropriate internal controls
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of Credit Union loan policies as well as the following regulations: Truth in Lending, HMDA, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Uniform Commercial Code, HUD, RESPA, Fair Housing Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act as well as lending related laws and other NCUA regulations
  • Maintains accountability for acceptable delinquency and loan loss ratios within the objectives of the strategic plan
  • Provides guidance and direction regarding collection activities ensuring adherence to regulatory compliance and sound business practices
  • Implements and maintains a lending risk management program including thorough review of approvals and denials and charge offs and provides trending information to lending staff to enhance origination and underwriting methodologies
  • Contributes to monthly Board meetings as needed providing current lending data and other related information as requested by the President/CEO and Board of Directors
  • Ensures that effective relationships are developed and maintained with secondary market vendors, governmental lending authorities, governmental bodies, external auditors and trade associations
  • Fosters strong ties to the business community within our field of membership (realtors, auto dealers, and others) to cultivate business development leads and positive business relationships
