Lending Specialist:  Lutheran Federal Credit Union

The duties and responsibilities of the Lending Specialist include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Promote loan programs based on the member’s needs, goals, and financial situation.
  • Input, review, analyze, underwrite, and approve loan applications.
  • Work directly with the member to obtain necessary supporting documentation for credit, assets, income and collateral specific items.
  • If a loan is denied, explain reasons for denial in a professional, courteous manner.  Work with member to provide recommendations or alternative options for other possible ways to secure a loan in the future.
  • Complete loan documents and disburse loans when approved.
  • Perfect liens on collateral for all collateral based loans.
  • Identify opportunities to successfully cross-sell other Credit Union products.
  • Responsible for performing collection duties including identifying delinquent accounts, contacting the member and making arrangements for payment.
  • Keep accurate records of collection communications with members and update current contact information in the collections software.
  • Work with credit union service organizations in order to assist members with first mortgage lending solutions by taking applications, being familiar with their specific programs, general qualifying guidelines, and calculating payments.
  • Learn deposit transaction functions in order to assist with member inquiries and requests.
  • Perform other Credit Union job-related duties as assigned.

We are looking for candidates with the following qualities:

  • Minimum (1) year prior loan origination and\or underwriting experience in a banking or credit union environment.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze borrower information to make sound credit decisions by having working knowledge of underwriting procedures, income calculation methods, documentation requirements and terminology.
  • Preferred candidates will have (1) year previous collections experience and knowledge of collection procedures, laws and regulations.
  • Well-developed ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain a valid mortgage loan originator registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry within 6 months of hire date.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

President/CEO:  Highway Alliance Credit Union

Assistant Branch Manager (Tesson Ferry):  Electro Savings Credit Union

The role of the Assistant Branch Manager is to direct the Operations of a medium sized Credit Union facility, ensuring the branch meets organizational financial, operational, service and growth plans. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directs, develops, motivates, hires and disciplines branch personnel; administers performance evaluations and recommends appropriate personnel actions.
  • Monitors branch operating results relative to established objectives and ensures that appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions.  Responsible to ensure correction of errors on loans and deposits are completed in full compliance.
  • Maintains communications with Management; prepares and submits standard reports; attends scheduled Management meetings.
  • Represents the branch as appropriate in its relationships with members, sponsor organization(s), suppliers, other financial institutions, and similar groups.
  • Monitors all branch activities to ensure compliance with established Credit Union policies and procedures.  Manage the security and safety of the branch, with responsibility to analyze security and safety policies and procedures, and to alert staff of any changes.  Reviews and audits daily reports for compliance.
  • Act as a loan officer as approved by the Credit Union Manager.
  • Demonstrates and coaches staff on effective sales and service to promote Electro Savings Credit Union products and services. 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess two to five  years of similar or related experience in retail banking.  Prior retail branch supervision a must.  Credit Union experience preferred.   A high school education or GED required.  Advanced degree in Business or related field preferred.  A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required.  Work involves extensive contact with members and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature.  Ability to foster sound relationships and motivate and influence others.   Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Maintains accountability for acceptable delinquency and loan loss ratios within the objectives of the strategic plan
  • Provides guidance and direction regarding collection activities ensuring adherence to regulatory compliance and sound business practices
  • Implements and maintains a lending risk management program including thorough review of approvals and denials and charge offs and provides trending information to lending staff to enhance origination and underwriting methodologies
  • Contributes to monthly Board meetings as needed providing current lending data and other related information as requested by the President/CEO and Board of Directors
  • Ensures that effective relationships are developed and maintained with secondary market vendors, governmental lending authorities, governmental bodies, external auditors and trade associations
