Neighbors Credit Union’s branches in the Hazelwood / Florissant area were not affected by the recent storms. However, many of their neighbors were. When Hazelwood School District recently published a list of needed items for the recent storm victims, Neighbors Credit Union was proud to help by donating items and holding fundraisers.
Neighbors donated 20 blankets, 20 flashlights with batteries and one case (80 rolls) of toilet paper.
In addition, for every new “Like” the Neighbors Credit Union Facebook page received between Friday, April 12, and Monday, April 15, at noon, they donated $1 to the Hazelwood Community Response Team. The credit union also held a special dress down day on Monday, April 15, as a way for staff to raise funds for the organization. Between these two fundraisers, $650 was raised and donated to the Hazelwood Community Response team.
“This community is very dear to our hearts,” stated John Servos, president/CEO of Neighbors Credit Union. “We have members, staff, friends and family who live and work in the Hazelwood area. It is home to a three of our branches and we want to do what we can to make it home again for the storm victims.”
