Gift cards have become a very popular gift during the holiday season. Offering this product can allow your credit union to compete with gift card and reloadable 'stored value' debit cards offered at many retail outlets. Credit unions can benefit from offering this product by increasing revenue stream and providing members with the option to purchase these gifts while taking care of their other financial obligations.
Credit union members can benefit from this product as well. Gift cards have been proven to be safer than cash - if lost or stolen, the unused portion can be replaced. These cards can be used anywhere Visa is accepted. They have more flexibility than merchant-specific cards, denominations vary for every budget and a variety of designs are offered to suit any gift-giving season.
