Former MCUA Board Member Passes

The Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) lost another long-time board member. Mrs. Evelyn Mae Schuerman, 93, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2013. She served on the MCUA Board from 1966 to 1988. She was chair of the board from 1983 to 1985.

"Evelyn was a dedicated credit union person," says Stan Moeckli, president and CEO of Electro Savings Credit Union. Stan served on the MCUA Board with Evelyn. "She believed in credit unions helping people and the Missouri Credit Union Association."

Evelyn was born on June 5, 1920 in Jefferson City. As a lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, she graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1938.

She worked for 20 years at the Conservation Credit Union before retiring in 1986 as a manager. She then worked as a treasurer for the Association of Retired Missouri State Employees until 2008.

Evelyn was an avid Cardinals fan—her favorite player was Yadier Molina. She also enjoyed square dancing and spending time with her family.
