Arsenal Credit Union (Arnold) gave area teens a boost with their future educational plans by holding two college planning seminars for the community in October. One seminar was held on October 16 at the Webster Groves branch; the other was hosted at its Arnold headquarters on October 23. The seminars were presented by an admissions representative from Harris-Stowe State University and a representative from the Missouri Department of Higher Education’s Financial Aid Outreach Program.
Topics at the seminars included college admissions criteria, Missouri college cost comparisons, types of financial aid, ways to make college affordable, graduate salary comparisons for various Missouri colleges and universities, how a college degree can affect a Missourian’s annual income and what teens should be doing now to secure their educational future.
About 30 teens and parents attended the free seminars.
