Vantage Credit Union (Bridgeton) employees raised awareness and funds for cancer research during September and October. Vantage CEO Eric Acree personally presented a check for $500 to The Empowerment Network, and a $3,000 check was sent to Susan G. Komen Foundation on behalf of the credit union.
The Empowerment Network is a prostate cancer advocacy organization serving the greater St. Louis community.
“Vantage Credit Union has been a consistent supporter and friend of The Empowerment Network and its efforts to inform, educate and empower men and their families about prostate cancer,” said Founder and CEO Mellve Shahid Sr.
The Susan G. Komen foundation has spent nearly $1.5 billion for breast cancer research, education and advocacy.
Vantage employees pay to dress down to raise the majority of the funds. Vantage Credit Union then matches the amount raised from the dress down days. At the administrative branch, a mock jail held employees for bail money, which raised additional funds for the cause.
