CU Community Brings Smiles, Gifts to Students

For the ninth year, CU Community Credit Union (Springfield) staffers have made the holidays brighter for the second graders of Boyd Elementary School.

They joined Santa Claus in delivering clothes and toys to the students on Wednesday, December 18. Many of these children need warm clothes, food and personal care items. Check out all of the pictures here

The kiddos really appreciated the thoughtful gifts; one student shared her thanks in this interview with a local news station.

To raise money for the gifts, CU Community employees raffled gift baskets and decorated the giving tree. The giving tree allowed members and members of the community to donate to this worthy cause. In addition, more than 20 community partners gave gift cards and monetary donations to either purchase the gift baskets or the items for the children.

Local partners included: American Legion Auxiliary, American Legion Post 69, Brad Newberry of Endodontics of the Ozarks, Cedars, Chipotle, Classic Rock Coffee, Dickerson Park Zoo, Family Video, Fire House Pottery, Garbo’s Pizzeria, Hoover Music, Hy-Vee, Gina Williams with Image One Salon, Jump Mania, Kai, Kickapoo, Mahaffey Family Dentistry, Nancy Wicks, Ozark Mountain Popcorn, Pasta Express, Ron Coluccio of Murney Associates and Skinny Improv.
