To support the National Credit Union Foundation’s (NCUF) general fund and its Credit Union Development Education (CUDE) program, CUNA Mutual Group has made a $140,000 donation to NCUF. These contributions are made possible through the support CUNA Mutual Group receives from credit unions all over the country, including Missouri. Credit unions nationwide benefit from contributions made to the NCUF through BizKid$, CUAid, grants and the CUDE program.
CUNA Mutual President/CEO Bob Trunzo presented the check to the NCUF prior to the 2014 Herb Wegner Memorial Awards Dinner held Monday, February 24 in conjunction with CUNA’s Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington D.C.
“(We) are honored to support an organization that embodies the spirit of credit unions through its efforts to strengthen and develop the U.S. credit union movement,” says Trunzo.
As the movement's charitable arm, NCUF's funds industry-wide development initiatives including financial education to consumers of all ages, disaster assistance, greater access to affordable financial services, and helping empower consumers to save, build assets, and own homes, according to CUNA Mutual Group.
“The continuing contributions of organizations like CUNA Mutual Group enable NCUF to support effective initiatives that improve people’s financial lives through credit unions,” says Gigi Hyland, NCUF executive director.
