To celebrate April as Financial Literacy Month, the Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration (DIFP) released a video of the recent financial reality fair that the Missouri Credit Union Charitable Foundation (MCUCF) brought to the state capitol.
On March 11, MCUCF and credit union volunteers manned booths in the reality fair, which was held on the third floor of the Capitol Rotunda. Reality fairs reinforce the personal finance lessons that high school students learn in the classroom. It drives home the importance of budgeting and saving.
In addition to covering the event, DIFP also interviewed credit union leaders, Don Cohenour, president of the Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA), and Ron Miller, president of Edison Credit Union and vice chairman of Missouri Corporate Credit Union.
