Bank On More Hits Springfield's Zoo

Consumers at the Dickerson Park Zoo in Springfield learned how credit unions can help them Live Larger with a concession stand upgrade on Saturday, April 26. The Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) sent staff to the zoo to help distribute the Bank On More coupons, which upgraded a small drink to a medium and informed consumers about credit unions.

“The response was overwhelmingly positive,” says Nora Holloway, PR and online community director for MCUA. “We spoke to a number of nonmembers who expressed interest in switching to a credit union. We shared how easy it is to join one and how they can find a credit union near them with BankOnMore.com. I truly feel that we inspired people to consider banking with credit unions.”

This outreach was held in conjunction with a children’s event organized by seven area credit unions: Assemblies of God Credit Union, BluCurrent Credit Union, Community Financial Credit Union, CU Community Credit Union, Educational Community Credit Union, Metro Credit Union and TelComm Credit Union.

"Having Bank On More at our Springfield area Children’s Savings Club Zoo Day was a great tag-team approach to sharing the credit union difference with those folks who are not currently members of a credit union," says Lori Johnson, TelComm VP of Marketing & Business Development. "Our efforts helped remind people that credit unions are out and involved in the Springfield area.  Win-win for all parties involved!"

In addition to the concession coupon, MCUA staffers handed out Bank On More T-shirts and brochures explaining the benefits of credit union membership.

Invite Bank On More to Your Next Community Event

Bank On More will be at a number of community events in Missouri this year. This not only reinforces the messaging of the television and radio ads that are playing throughout the state, but also allows the MCUA staffers to directly address nonmembers’ questions. It’s vital for Bank On More to make that in-person connection to nonmembers at community events.

If you would like Bank On More to support any consumer-facing events, please contact Halley Abbott, vice president of Communications, via email or phone at 314.542.1346.
