The children of Joplin were thrilled to see the Easter bunny at an egg hunt hosted by Joplin Metro Credit Union (JMCU). The event was held on April 19. It was well attended with approximately 50 children participating in the event.
The kiddos excitedly hunted for eggs that day. They were divided into three age categories: 0-3 years, 4-6 years and 7-12 years of age. Two lucky kids in each category found golden eggs, which entitled them to a prize of a Toys R Us gift card or a large stuffed animal.
In addition to the hunt, the adorable Easter Bunny, Maria Beasley, was a big hit and posed for photos with the children. She entertained everyone by dancing and bunny hopping. Maria is a JMCU member and the daughter of JMCU's MRS supervisor Laura Hobbs.
The firefighters from the fire station next door even stopped by to say hello.
“This was our third year to host the event," said Cindy Atteberry, president and CEO of JMCU. "Each year it has continued to grow, with approximately 50-60 children attending. A big thank you to our staff who helped or it would not have been possible. JMCU has always and will continue to help the members of our community. This is a special event to provide fun and entertainment for our Kids’ Club Account members and we strive to show our members at an early age the benefits of membership."
