The colors pink and blue have special meaning for Vantage Credit Union, which raised awareness and funds for cancer research. The credit union raised $2,000 during September and October for Prostate and Breast Cancer Awareness. The credit union held a ‘blue’ dress down day and bake sale for prostate cancer on September 30, and a ‘pink’ dress down day and a gift basket auction for breast cancer on October 21.
Prostate cancer is an important cause for Hoosman who has lost loved ones to the disease. A check for $2,226 was also delivered to the American Cancer Society - Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, by Human Resources Manager Laura Zettler, who spearheaded the breast cancer dress down day and gift basket auction for credit union employees.
“The fight against cancer and its devastating effects is an ongoing battle,” commented Hoosman. “Vantage is proud to be a contributor toward efforts to find cures for prostate and breast cancer. We also encourage men and women to get checked regularly.”
