Advocacy Training Offered in Advance of 2014 Elections - Register Today

2014 is an election year, making it even more important to stay on top of any issues affecting credit unions in Missouri. It’s also vital to keep credit union advocacy efforts going strong after elections, as the next group of lawmakers take office.

"Candidates and new lawmakers might not be familiar with credit unions, so it's really important to share the credit union difference with them," says Amy McLard, SVP of Advocacy for the Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA). "They need to know how credit unions in Missouri serve their constituents and communities, so credit union advocates play an essential role."

Be prepared for the election season - and beyond - by taking part in MCUA's statewide advocacy training for credit unions’ leaders and volunteers.  The free event includes lunch, and participants will learn:

  • How to be an effective advocate for credit unions
  • Tips to engage credit union staff, members and volunteers in advocacy
  • What advocacy tools and resources are available to credit union staff
  • How to access advocacy tools and resources

Beginning in late May, these trainings will be held throughout the state. To register, please click on your choice location.*

Jefferson City: Thursday, May 29, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
