On November 12, 1989, the Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) moved into its St. Louis headquarters, located at 2055 Craigshire Road in Maryland Heights. As part of the building’s dedication, MCUA staffers buried a time capsule filled with league mementos.
The move to the new headquarters allowed all of MCUA’s St. Louis staff to work under the same roof for the first time since the 1960s.
“It was an exciting time—the credit union industry was growing and the League was expanding,” says Pat Benhen, MCUA vice president of Administration. “MCUA’s offices included the entire first and second floors.”
To celebrate 25 years at the Craigshire location, MCUA staffers will reveal the contents of the time capsule during a small reception on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 9 a.m. MCUA will invite long-time credit union leaders and volunteers to participate in this event. If you know of anyone who should be invited, please contact us via email.
Think you know what’s inside the time capsule? Have a great MCUA memory you want to share? Send us an email.
MCUA will share these comments in an upcoming Missouri Difference article.
