Once a month, Central Missouri Community Credit Union (CMCCU) employees volunteer for the Nehemiah Feeding Project (NFP), a program that partners with Shiloh Baptist Church and Harvesters Community Food Network.
The Nehemiah Feeding Project provides meals Monday through Thursday to those in need in Johnson County.
Those who come to the Nehemiah Feeding Project enjoy a meal in a restaurant-style setting.
“The wonderful thing about NFP is it doesn't matter who you are, if you've fallen on hard times or simply need a hot meal, you can come and be served," says Melissa Frey, Marketing specialist at CMCCU. "Our motto at CMCCU is ‘People Helping People.’ This is an excellent way to illustrate who we are by serving others.”
Another CMCCU employee, Nancy Kengor, shared her experience.
"I just kept thinking that without the Nehemiah Feeding Project, those we serve might not have had any dinner that night if it weren't for the program," says Kengor. "I had a table of very special people who gave me more than I could have ever given them."
CMCCU employees will volunteer for the Nehemiah Feeding Project every third Thursday of the month. To find out more about the Nehemiah Feeding Project, visit this website.
