On June 17, United Credit Union (Mexico) participated in a Summer 2 Discover event on the Moberly Area Community College campus in Moberly. This three-day event was designed to give children, from third grade through sixth grade, a taste of what college would be like. The event included multiple hands-on activities, and kids were able to get a good feel for what it is like to be on a college campus.
United taught the first presentation of the event. Speakers presented on the topic of “The Three S’s- Saving, Sharing and Spending.” The group of more than 50 kids enjoyed telling about ways that they have found to share, what they would like to save for and how they love to spend. It was a great time, and United looks forward to participating in the event again next year.
“Here at United Credit Union, we believe that it is important to not only educate our members but to invest in our future members," says Arica Alton, Marketing specialist from United Credit Union. "We love to get involved with local educational opportunities where we can get kids excited about how to manage their money. By this, we are creating responsible future members, business owners and citizens.”
