Health Care Family Credit Union (Richmond Heights) hosted a community carnival event on July 26. Credit union volunteers worked the event and helped raise awareness of the membership eligibility. Membership is open to more than 100 employee groups in the health care field, several civic organizations and employees and residents of Richmond and Maplewood.
HCFCU mailed invitations to the homes surrounding the Richmond Heights branch, and emailed invites to all of the youth account holders. At the event, guests were invited to play games like ring toss, bean bag toss, spin-the-wheel and plinko. Stuffed animals, paper fans, silly putty, gliders, and other prizes were given to game winners. HCFCU also held a raffle for three gift baskets--two for kids and one for an adult to win.
The event also included free face painting for the kids and a tour of a local fire engine.
“We are happy so many members and nonmembers were able to come enjoy this event," says Sam Davis HCFCU marketing representative. "Not only did the event raise awareness for our credit union, but it promoted the advantages of all credit unions."
To support HCFCU staffers in raising awareness, Bank On More had a booth at the event. A number of nonmembers and members inquired about the campaign. Several of the members didn't realize that their credit unions offered services aside from checking and savings accounts, but thanks to the event, they learned all about the credit union advantage.
