Meeting with Congressman Graves In-District: Meetings with Cleaver & Luetkemeyer Ahead

U.S. Representative Sam Graves (R-District 6) reaffirmed his support of maintaining the credit union tax status when he met with credit union leaders this week.  The meeting took place in-district on August 25, at CommunityAmerica’s North Oak Trafficway branch in Kansas City.  Credit union leaders expressed the importance of the credit union tax status when discussing the possibility of tax reform in the next Congress.

Graves, who had served as chairman of the House Small Business Committee, asked about the impact of data breaches on credit unions. The discussion also included concerns with regulatory burden, patent trolling, and the status of housing finance reform and member business lending.  Attendees also thanked Congressman Graves for signing the letter from U.S. House members outlining concerns about the National Credit Union Administration’s Risk-Based Capital (RBC) proposal.

Participants included credit union representatives from CommunityAmerica Credit Union, Edison Credit Union, United Consumers Credit Union and Missouri Credit Union Association.
