Vantage Credit Union dressed down for a great cause and raised $772 for Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) which has purchased land and will soon be building a specially adapted home for Cpl. Justin McLoud of Festus, MO. Homes for Our Troops, the organization for which Vantage held the fundraiser, is a national non-profit, non-partisan 501(c)(3) organization which helps build homes for soldiers who have returned from war with serious disabilities and injuries since September 11, 2001.
Marine Cpl. Justin McLoud was on his third deployment when he was left a triple amputee after an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Sangin, part of the northern Helmand Province of Afghanistan. Cpl. McLoud shared the following on the HFOT website:
“One of the first concerns my wife and I had after my injury was trying to figure out where we could live that was adapted for me but would also be a nice home for our young son,” said Cpl. McLoud. “Homes for Our Troops has lifted that burden. We are thankful for their support, it means a lot to my family and me.”
