Credit Unions Raise $217,247 for CMN
Thanks to Missouri credit unions and their chapters and business partners, Credit Unions for Kids received $217,247 in donations in 2011. Credit Unions for Kids is a nonprofit collaboration of credit unions, chapters, leagues and business partners from across the country that are engaged in fundraising activities to benefit 170 Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals. Adopted as the industry's charity of choice, credit unions are the third largest sponsor of CMN Hospitals. One-hundred percent of every dollar collected by credit unions goes back to local CMN Hospitals that treat millions of children every year.
"This is the third year in a row that we have been honored as a top contributor out of all Missouri credit unions; however, the greatest award is being able to continue our credit union philosophy of people helping people in our community,” says Frank Nelson, president/CEO of 1st Financial Federal Credit Union. “We are grateful to have two outstanding hospitals to help our area children when they need it the most."
Credit unions raised funds throughout the year by hosting trivia nights, golf tournaments, bake sales, offering employee dress-down days and much more.
