As part of its community outreach efforts, West Community Credit Union (O’Fallon) recently partnered with Junior Achievement (JA) for its “Economics For Success” program. Three of West Community’s staff members, Rebecca Boyce, Barbara Davis and Lori Hudson, served as volunteer presenters for the program, which took place at Orchard Farm Middle School in St. Charles County.
JA’s Economics for Success explores personal finance and students’ education and career options based on their skills, interests and values. The students rotate through six activities during the day-long program, which are guided by different volunteer presenters.
“It’s so rewarding to help students in our community explore some of the career options that will be available to them one day,” says Lori Hudson, community relations coordinator for West Community. “And, Junior Achievement is such a great organization to work with. Their programs are so helpful to our young people. We look forward to more partnership opportunities in the future.”Photo Caption: Rebecca Boyce of West Community teaches students about credit scores – how important they are, what they are, and the everyday decisions that affect them.
