Utilizing Social Media for S. 2231
Credit union leaders are encouraged to contact Missouri’s U.S. Senators and ask for their support of S. 2231, the Credit Union Small Business Jobs Bill. Social media is another way to get the word out about member business lending and engage your members. Both Sen. Claire McCaskill (D) and Sen. Roy Blunt (R) are active on Facebook and Twitter.
Here are some suggestions for using social media for the MBL effort:
• Post a call to action on your credit union website page. Click here for the link.

• Contact Senators McCaskill and Blunt via their Facebook pages (see below).
• If you tweet to your Senator encouraging them to support S.2231, use the hashtag, #raiseMBLcap.
Senator Blunt has posted photos from March on his Facebook page, including the credit union GAC visit to his weekly Missouri Morning gathering on March 21. There were 47 people from Missouri credit unions who came to meet with him, making it the largest “Missouri Morning” crowd ever. Calls and emails are important ways to reach out to Sen. McCaskill and Sen. Blunt and encourage them to vote “yes” on S. 2231.
