New White Papers: Wellness & Financial Forecasting

CUNA HR/TD Council:
CUNA HR/TD Council white paper provides an in-depth look at wellness programs.  Helping employees stay healthy and avoid disease, illness and accidents makes good business sense. If an organization has healthy employees, not only are its health care costs lower, but the employees are happier, more productive, and higher performing, which translates to lower operating costs. If employees’ families are healthy as well, it further reduces an organization’s overall health care costs.

That’s why a growing number of credit unions have introduced wellness programs to keep employees and their families healthy. But to be effective, the programs have to be well designed. And as always, whatever gets measured gets done. Fortunately, data and resources have emerged to guide the design, launch, maintenance and evaluation of wellness programs.

A new white paper from the CUNA HR/TD Council titled “Credit Union Wellness Programs: Good Health Is Good Business,” makes the case for employee wellness programs and discusses:

  • Creating a vision and developing strategies
  • Program components
  • Program benefits and costs
  • Communication and promotion
  • Employee engagement and incentives

The paper also includes four cases studies featuring credit unions seeing positive results from their wellness programs.

CUNA Council members are entitled to complimentary copies of these and more than 300 white papers; non-members may purchase the white papers for a price of $50 per copy.  The paper is available online in the white paper section of  – select the “HR/TD” tab.

Specifically, this white paper presents:

  • A strategy for laying the proper foundations for forecasting and analysis;

  • Strategies to develop accurate and useful forecasts that address key financial risks, organizational performance and profitability, pricing, competitive analysis, and cost controls;
