Spring cleaning must have been on the minds of First Community Credit Union (Chesterfield) members on Shred Day. Using seven trucks and the professional services of CINTAS Document Management, more than 72,000 pounds of paper were shredded/recycled.
First Community has held the semi-annual event for many years at their Chesterfield headquarters but now has expanded the event to four different locations on the same day. For the first time, more than 1,000 cars passed through the event. “Members have come to expect this service and we are happy to provide it,” said Glenn D. Barks, president and CEO of First Community.
Up to five boxes of paper were allowed for shredding and members were treated to car-side service as employees unloaded the boxes for them. In many cases, members never left their cars. The event was staffed by the First Community Street Team. The Street Team is a select group of employees that applied and were chosen to represent the company at community events throughout the year. There are about 20 employees on the Street Team and they typically serve a one-year term.Photo Caption: A steady line of cars dropped off their boxes in the Chesterfield Branch parking lot on Shred Day.
