Every year the National Youth Involvement Board (NYIB) gathers data on how many financial literacy presentations credit unions make in-classrooms around the country. This data is used by credit unions around the country when they talk with legislators about the credit union difference.
This year NYIB has a very aggressive goal (500,000) and reporting is for presentations given July 1, 2011 – June 30, 2012. The deadline for reporting is July 6.
What is different this year is that there is a special bonus for the region (SE, NE, North-Central, South-Central, SW or NW) that reports the most students reached in financial education during the 2011-2012 school year! The winning region will not only have major bragging rights but will also be featured in an article by Credit Union Magazine on-line! Make sure that YOUR credit union is on the list and represented! PLEASE go to the NYIB website and report your presentations ASAP. The deadline is July 6.
