City Credit Union (Independence) has awarded two college scholarships of $1,000 each. The winners, Christopher Ebert, Jr. and Ethan Milsap, were selected based on their academic achievements, work ethic, involvement in school and community activities, written expression and character.
Ebert will graduate from Bishop Miege High School this year, and has already been accepted as a member of the Central Missouri University graduating class of 2016. During his high school career, Ebert participated in student council, football, baseball, various clubs and the campus ministry team. He’ll even continue his high school affiliations after heading to Warrensburg; Ebert will serve next year’s seniors as a leader at Kairos, an annual, invitation-only religious retreat.
Milsap participated in numerous community organizations and sports teams while attending home school classes, including Christian Youth Theater, Blue Springs Basketball Association and Plaza Heights Christian Academy Varsity Baseball. He has also been dedicated to service through the Boy Scouts of America, achieving the Eagle Scout Award in 2010. One year later, Milsap was nominated by Congressman Sam Graves to attend the United States Military Academy. He will join the class of 2016 in West Point, New York, in the fall.
