NCUF Activates CUAid for Colorado Wildfire Relief
The National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) has activated CUAid to raise money for people affected by the Colorado wildfires. More than 350 homes have been destroyed by the wildfires. CUAid is the national online giving center for credit unions that collected donations for victims of the Joplin, Missouri, tornado last May.
All contributions are directed to the NCUF where they will be disbursed through the credit union leagues or state foundations for use at the local level. Your donation will enable credit unions in the affected communities to offer critical financial services to their members and communities as well as provide emergency relief to credit union and league staff displaced by the wildfires.
Also, your organization is encouraged to link to cuaid.coop to offer employees and members a donation option to help fellow credit union employees and members in the disaster area. Once credit unions publicize this to their employees and members:
- More credit union employees and members will be aware that they can contribute to help fellow employees and members.
- More disaster relief contributions will remain in the credit union system.
- Most important, cash is channeled to the disaster area more quickly.
