CUAid Activated for Sandy Relief
The National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) has activated the online disaster relief system CUAid.coop to raise money for credit union people along the East Coast affected by Hurricane Sandy.
Credit union supporters in Missouri can now make donations at www.cuaid.coop/Missouri. CUAid is the only program of its kind that enables credit union employees, volunteers, and members, as well as credit unions and credit union organizations across the U.S., to contribute directly to support other credit union people.
On October 31, 2012, the Missouri Credit Union Charitable Foundation (MCUCF) approved and sent $3,000 to NCUF for this effort.
MCUCF challenges Missouri credit union employees, volunteers, and members to MATCH that contribution by donating what they can toward a goal of and additional $3,000.
As donations are posted through CUAid.coop, NCUF will coordinate with the credit union leagues in the disaster area to distribute money efficiently to affected credit union employees and members. A full 100% of CUAid donations go to credit union disaster relief. In the event all donations are not used for Hurricane Sandy relief, NCUF will transfer any and all unused funds to its "General Disaster Relief fund" for future disaster relief efforts.
