A day on the lake helped credit unions raise more than five thousand dollars for the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN). Credit unions from across the state sponsored and participated in the 17th Annual CMN Buddy Bass Tournament. The event took place on March 9 at Robin’s Resort at the Lake of the Ozarks.
Fifty-eight boats filled with fishing enthusiasts headed out at 6:45 a.m., including 15 boats with credit union staff, volunteers and members. Bob Richardson and Bob Wilson were the winning boat, bringing in six fish totaling 24.95 pounds. The Big Bass winner was Kenny Rauth, with a 6.95 pound catch.
“It’s hard to believe this is the seventeenth year for this event,” said Tim Loveless, Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) field representative and event organizer. “It’s great to know that by working together, credit unions are able to help children’s hospitals and countless children get the care they need in Missouri.”
The total amount raised was $5,500.
