The Assemblies of God Credit Union (AGCU) recently hired Springfield’s State Senator Bob Dixon as a mortgage officer for the credit union. The staff addition reflects significant member loan demand and the need for experienced mortgage professionals to address continued growth at the credit union.
Senator Dixon has more than 20 years of experience in banking and financial services.
“It is a pleasure to join the AGCU team and help families and individuals make prudent financial decisions related to getting into the home of their dreams,” Dixon said. “Affordable housing and responsible lending practices are cornerstones of our economy. I am happy to align my professional goals with the experienced, financial professionals at AGCU. They are committed to giving members the highest level of customer service and sound financial advice.”
“Bob brings a wealth of knowledge and customer service experience that will complement our mortgage department well,” said Paul Ebisch, AGCU president and chief executive officer. “It is an honor to have this committed public servant on our staff.”
The AGCU Mortgage Department has seen exceptional growth in both loan volume and personnel over the last two years. Mortgage loans increased from $15.7 million in 2011 to $31.1 million in 2012. During the first five months of 2013, mortgage loan closings have exceeded $26 million. In the last 18 months, the department has expanded from three to nine employees – tripling the ability of the department to meet membership demand for mortgage services and products.
