Arsenal Credit Union recently awarded $897 to 111 young members who excelled in school during the past academic year.
Through the Tracker Academic All-Stars program, members of the credit union’s Tracker Kids Club have the chance to earn up to $5 per semester and $10 per year for A’s in English, math, science, social studies and one other class. Students in kindergarten through sixth grade are eligible for the program. They brought or sent in their report cards throughout the month of June and received $1 per A, which was deposited into their accounts.
The credit union introduced these financial incentives three years ago as a way to recognize its young members for working hard in school; the grade rewards program complements a college scholarship program that the credit union has offered to members of its Advantage Point Teen Club. For the past 17 years, the Advantage Point Teen Club has assisted student members graduating from high school.
The Tracker Kids Club teaches good savings habits to children ages 12 and under through various incentives and financial education presentations.
