Recently, the Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) filled the positions of vice president of Events and vice president of Communications. These new hires will round out MCUA’s Member Relations department, which supports the marketing and communication needs of its member credit unions.
Maria Langston has accepted the position of vice president of Events. She will also act as the executive director of the Missouri Credit Union Charitable Foundation (MCUCF). Before MCUA, she worked for 12 years at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) of Greater St. Louis.
At her last position, she was the executive director and managed a team of four. She focused on fundraising events, and she spent a lot of time hammering out logistics for the events, such as Miracle Treat Day and the CMNH radiothons. She will apply these same skills to coordinate and execute MCUA conferences, like the annual MCUA Convention and Exposition.
While planning CMNH events, she collaborated with MCUA staff and a number of credit union professionals. Throughout the years, she stated that she came to respect and admire these individuals.
“This position appealed to me because it provided the opportunity to join the amazing MCUA team,” says Langston. “I’m excited to work with each of them and to provide support for MCUA events, while managing the Missouri Credit Union Charitable Foundation.”
Langston graduated from Southern Illinois University–Edwardsville. She majored in speech communication and minored in business and marketing.
Halley Hayden has stepped into the role of vice president of Communications. She returned to MCUA after working for Schupp Company as an account executive. While employed at Schupp, she worked on brands such as Miller Lite, Coors Light and Missouri Baptist University.
She explained that her transition back to MCUA was a natural one.
“Learning the agency side of advertising was an invaluable experience that I can apply during the day-to-day operations at MCUA,” says Hayden. “I’m looking forward to seeing our awareness campaign through and ensuring it educates consumers about the many benefits of credit unions.”
Prior to Schupp Company, Hayden held various positions at MCUA and has more than five years of experience working with credit unions in Missouri. Backed with this expertise and know-how, she will spearhead the consumer awareness campaign and the communications efforts on behalf of credit unions in Missouri.
Hayden is CUDE certified. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri–Columbia, where she majored in magazine journalism. Later, she earned her masters in marketing from Webster University and furthered her education in global study in Brazil.
Join us in welcoming these talented professionals to MCUA!
