Credit union leaders from Missouri are in Washington, D.C. for Hike the Hill and meeting with Congressional leaders despite the government shutdown. With the credit union tax status in the spotlight as Congress works on comprehensive tax reform, credit union representatives are taking this time to make sure federal lawmakers understand the importance of preserving the credit union tax status and how this affects consumers back home in their districts.
To make sure Congress gets the Don’t Tax My Credit Union (DTMCU) message, please attend the first ever National Online Rally for Credit Unions on October 2. Hosted at Credit Union House in Washington, D.C., the rally will be live streamed from 1 - 2 p.m. CST here and on The Hill Newspaper's website.
Missouri credit union representatives will be on hand in Washington, D.C. and may appear during the rally. Throughout tomorrow, please share member testimonials, credit union facts or other positive stories to amplify the Don't Tax My Credit Union message. For more examples of updates, click here. Please share these updates on Facebook and Twitter with the hashtag #DontTaxMyCU.
Also, please share any photos of credit union members or staffers with DTMCU signs, buttons or T-shirts (example at right). Share these on Facebook and Twitter with the hashtag #DontTaxMyCU.
Messages can also be sent directly to lawmakers by clicking here.
