Credit unions in Missouri and nationwide voted for Catch the $ave Wave as the theme for National Credit Union Youth Week, which will take place April 20-26.
Catch the $ave Wave connects with young children's and teenagers' excitement for beaches, sand and surfing. There will be plenty of attractive celebration materials and promotional products. Expect to see the return of some popular items from last year, including the mood cup and the quarter saver folder. Additionally, several beach-inspired new items have been added to take advantage of the fun-in-the-sun theme.
The goal of National Credit Union Youth Week is to pave the path to life-long credit union membership by encouraging kids to set up savings accounts, learn how to manage money, and be more financially literate, while at the same time increasing credit union loyalty in their parents. Before long, those young savers grow into borrowers for autos and education.
Credit unions are welcome to celebrate throughout the month of April with the National Youth Saving Challenge, designed to kickstart good savings habits and reward lucky youth participants with cash prizes. Registration will open in January.
Marketing resources for this promotion can be found here. These will be updated with more promotional products closer to January 2014.
