Credit union leaders are urged to share the “Don’t Tax My Credit Union” message with Missouri’s members of Congress this week as bankers head to Washington, D.C.
The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) is holding a national meeting in Washington, and representatives from Missouri banks are expected to visit with the Missouri Congressional delegation on April 29-30. “Ending the tax subsidy currently enjoyed by credit unions….” is one of the top three priorities listed in the handout ICBA members will leave with members of Congress.
Make sure Missouri's Congressional delegation hears directly from credit unions this week and gets the "Don't Tax My Credit Union" message! Credit unions are urged to have members of its management team, staff and volunteers visit the Don't Tax My Credit Union website.
“Even if you sent a message earlier this year, sending a reminder about the credit union difference is the best way to counter any misleading banker claims,” says Amy McLard, Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) senior vice president of Advocacy.
