Last November, the Central Chapter set out on a mission to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network (CMN) Goggle Kids Campaign. Using special goggles that play movies, children are able to sit still during MRI scans. Without the use of goggles, some children have to be sedated during MRI tests, which increase risk and cause additional stress on the young patients.
With the continued support of credit unions and a large donation from the CMN Radiothon, a total of more than $32,000 of the needed $45,000 for one pair of goggles has been raised. The chapter's goal is to raise the needed $12,000 by December 2012. To accomplish this goal, both the Central Chapter of Credit Unions and the Northeast Chapter of Credit Unions are banding together to raise the additional money needed.
The kickoff of Phase II of the fundraiser is July 12-31. All promotional materials will be provided, making participation easy. Click here to view a video that shows how these goggles work and benefit the kids. If your credit union will like to participate, contact Cindy Campbell by April 10.
