Take time to register this week for two important Missouri credit union events taking place in June. The registration deadline for Missouri Hike the Hill is May 26, and the National Credit Union Administration's "Listening Session" in St. Louis takes place on June 5. Registration for the NCUA event is limited to the first 150 people.
National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Chairman Debbie Matz is coming to Missouri on June 5 to hold a listening session with credit unions. Don't miss out on an opportunity to hear from NCUA Chairman Matz directly and ask questions. The event takes place in St. Louis on June 5 and is free, but limited to 150 people. The St. Louis meeting is one of six listening sessions taking place across the country.
“We look forward to hearing from credit union officials and volunteers in all six Listening Sessions,” said Matz. “We welcome open dialogue to improve our exam process, regulations, and credit unions’ safety and soundness."

Missouri Hike the Hill - June 25-27 (Registration Deadline May 26)
The Missouri Credit Union Association's (MCUA) summer Hike the Hill takes place June 25-27. To ensure a hotel room at the group rate, reservations are needed by May 26.
There are many issues facing credit unions, including ATM disclosures, examination fairness, and protecting the credit union tax status. A key focus continues to be member business lending. Senate leadership has stated that S. 2231, the Credit Union Small Business Jobs Act, will come up for a vote this session. It is important for federal lawmakers to hear directly from people who are involved in member business lending - and those who want to do more.
Credit union management, volunteers, and small business owners are encouraged to take part in Hike the Hill and visit with Missouri's Congressional delegation. MCUA is also working towards an agency visit during Hike the Hill. If business owners have limited time to be away, please contact Amy McLard or Peggy Nalls, or call 800-392-3074 to discuss best dates for participation. MCUA will work with credit unions on scheduling meetings to enable business owners to take limited time from their business, yet be able to participate.

Click here to register online for Hike the Hill. You will receive a confirmation email following online registration. When registering, please provide your arrival and departure times. Please arrive by in the afternoon of June 25 and do not plan to depart until after 5 p.m. on June 27. This will help accommodate any last minute changes by legislative staff regarding visits. MCUA will schedule both legislative and regulatory agency meetings. A packet of information, including a schedule of events, will be distributed to all Hike the Hill attendees prior to the event.
Hotel reservations must be made separately by calling the Hilton Garden Inn directly 202.408.4870. The rate is $259 per night. Reference the Missouri Credit Union Association block to get this rate. Registration for both the event and hotel are needed by May 26.
