Since 1997, the employees of Electro Savings Credit Union (ESCU) have bundled up in their winter coats to collect donations for Old Newsboys Day in front of the credit union’s Maryland Height location. Employees of the credit union are joining with thousands of volunteers who put on aprons and stand on street corners, selling newspapers to raise money for children's organizations funded through the Old Newsboys Fund.
In its 16th year of participating in the St. Louis tradition, the credit union raised $244. “We never have trouble getting employees to volunteer”, says Lisa Farnen vice president of Marketing. “Employees that aren’t able to volunteer still participate by donating to wear jeans.”
