St. Louis Chapter of Credit Unions To Hold Cooperative Shred Days

Seven St. Louis/Illinois area credit unions are participating in the St. Louis Chapter of Credit Union's FREE "Shred Days."

On three separate days at multiple locations, members of the participating credit unions will be able to take up to five boxes (per family) of their personal documents to be shredded on-site by professional document destruction companies. In addition to document shredding, some locations will be offering bike recycling or electronics recycling.

Arsenal Collects Toys for Underprivileged Children

Arsenal Credit Union brightened the holidays for hundreds of area children by collecting toys in its branches in December. About 400 toys were donated during the two-week toy drive.

All toys were handed out at local food pantries to needy families in the areas surrounding the credit union’s branches.

Personal documents are safe from prying eyes and electronics from landfills, after Arsenal Credit Union’s (Arnold) three successful community shred/recycle events in September and October. Credit union members and community residents were invited to drop off their old documents for free shredding and recycling on September 28 at Arsenal’s Jefferson County and North St.

Through the generosity of credit union employees and members, Arsenal Credit Union (Arnold, Mo.) collected more than 1,800 school supply and food items in a back-to-school drive in late July and early August, donating them to low-income schools in Jefferson County and two food pantries in South St. Louis County.

Arsenal CU Teams Up with MERS/Goodwill

When Arsenal Credit Union (Arnold, Mo.) received a request for information on personal money management from a local MERS/Goodwill official who works at the Autism Employment Center in Brentwood, Mo., it did more than just provide print materials for the center’s clients. It offered to teach classes at the center to advance the mission of helping people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) begin or continue their transition to self-sufficiency.
