HBS: Helps Credit Unions Grow Business Loans, Sees Board Changes

The last year has been a period of growth and board changes for Heartland Business Services (HBS), a credit union service organization (CUSO) that provides member business loan services to credit unions in Kansas and Missouri.

“It was a great year for Heartland Business Services,” says Keith Steinhoff, HBS president/CEO. “We saw a 5% increase in loan growth and a revenue increase of 17% when compared to the previous year.”

West Community CU Announces Hinrichs Retiring in Early 2016

Gary Hinrichs was named President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of West Community Credit Union (then known as Brentwood Mutual Credit Union) in 1974 – he was one of only two employees. Hinrichs started his credit union career while still in college, earning his degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri - St. Louis.

The Missouri Division of Credit Unions has approved West Community Credit Union’s (O'Fallon) request to include Lincoln and Franklin counties as areas they can serve. This allows West Community to open membership to everyone who lives or works in these counties.

Missouri’s Credit Unions Bring in $1.1 Million for Youth Saving Challenge

In April, 7,592 youth caught the save wave thanks to credit unions in Missouri. These young savers deposited more than $1,126,000, and more than 340 new youth saving accounts were opened. On a national level, 94,466 youth deposited $20.5 million with 238 credit unions participating in this year’s National Youth Saving Challenge.
