Credit unions in Missouri took the Don’t Tax My Credit Union initiative online July 23 for Don’t Tax Tuesday. Credit unions, their staff and members used Twitter and Facebook to share the #DontTaxMyCU message. Many tagged U.S. Senators and Representatives in their messages, and urged their memberships to do the same.

Governor Nixon Vetoes 29 Bills in 2013

Governor Jay Nixon (D) vetoed a total of 29 bills from the 2013 Missouri legislative session, the most in a single year since he took office in 2009. This represents approximately 20 percent of the 145 non-budgetary bills that made it to the Governor’s desk. Nixon had 45 days to sign or veto bills, concluding July 14, 2013.
