U.S. Senators heard from one of Missouri's credit union leaders about the impact of regulatory burden on small financial institutions this week.  Dennis Pierce, CEO of CommunityAmerica Credit Union (Kansas City) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Credit Union National Association, testified in front of the U.S. Senate’s Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs on September 16.

Meeting with U.S. House Financial Services Leaders in Missouri

Credit union staff and volunteers met with two members of the House Financial Services Committee on September 2 and 3, during the in-district work period.

U.S. Representative Emanuel Cleaver (D-District 5) welcomed credit union leaders to his Kansas City office on September 2 to discuss issues and concerns. Ten representatives from five credit unions and the Missouri Credit Union Association took part in the meeting.

MCUA Gearing Up for 2014 Veto Session, Will Host Two Receptions for State Lawmakers

The Missouri General Assembly will be meeting in Jefferson City Sept. 10 for its annual veto session. Any bill vetoed by Governor Jay Nixon (D) in 2014 can be brought up for discussion, and a two-thirds majority in both the House and Senate are required to successfully override the Governor’s veto.

Credit Union Leaders Meet with State House Candidate John Wiemann
