Missouri’s Credit Unions Bring in $1.1 Million for Youth Saving Challenge

In April, 7,592 youth caught the save wave thanks to credit unions in Missouri. These young savers deposited more than $1,126,000, and more than 340 new youth saving accounts were opened. On a national level, 94,466 youth deposited $20.5 million with 238 credit unions participating in this year’s National Youth Saving Challenge.

1st Financial Federal Awards Grant, Volunteer Hours

Through the Helping People 1st monthly grant program, 1st Financial Federal Credit Union (Wentzville)​ gives its employees the opportunity to make a positive difference in the community. The Hazelwood branch, located at 5916 North Lindbergh, chose to award a $500 grant and employee volunteer hours to work with PAKT Community Resource Center in April.

Loretta Roney Takes Helm of Community Financial

Arsenal Holds Open House at New Branch in Illinois

Arsenal Credit Union (Arnold) officials christened their new Swansea branch at 4384 N. Illinois Street with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house event on Saturday, April 26, 2014. The new location, Arsenal’s first in Illinois, is the former home of Southern Illinois Area Credit Union, which merged with Arsenal on January 1, 2014.

Officials cut a special money ribbon that represented a $500 donation to the Swansea Food Pantry. Among those participating in the ceremony was Swansea Mayor Ken Mueller.

MCUA Closed Memorial Day

In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA), iVia Exchange Services, Heartland Business Services and Missouri Corporate Credit Union (MCCU) will be closed on Monday, May 26, 2014. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, May 27.

Electro Savings Celebrates Youth Week

Electro Savings Credit Union participated in Youth Savings Month by raising funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN) in April. The credit union ran account specials with a $5 donation to CMN for each new youth account opened, or each deposit more than $50 in an existing youth account.
